A Fun-Filled Day at Nido & Mariana Qubein Children’s Museum

We had the absolute best time at the Nido & Mariana Qubein Children’s Museum in High Point! From the moment we arrived, it was non-stop fun, exploration, and hands-on learning. We stayed and played for around three hours. Honestly, we could have spent even longer enjoying everything this incredible museum has to offer.

A Magical First Impression

We were greeted by giant grass animals as soon as we walked up. A little dinosaur park also welcomed us. This immediately set the stage for an exciting adventure. The building itself is bright, colorful, and inviting, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome right away.

One of the best parts? The museum offers daily activities included with admission, so there’s always something new to experience each visit! We saw storytime and special shows happening earlier in the day. We realized that next time, we’ll try to arrive earlier. We want to catch more of these special events. We arrived at 2 PM and stayed until 5 PM. It was still a great timeframe to explore and enjoy everything!

Endless Fun on the First Floor

The first floor of the museum is packed with engaging exhibits and interactive play areas:

• Netted Climbing Area: A thrilling space for kids to climb and explore.

• Train Station: A miniature world. Kids can build their own roads. They are inspired by the real roads of High Point.

• Water Play Station: A sensory wonderland filled with water activities. Ponchos are available to help keep little ones (and grown-ups) dry!

• Toddler Play Area: This is a dedicated space for younger children. It is equipped with soft play structures, a puppet theater, and engaging learning toys. It is perfect for little hands and big imaginations. (Shoes off in this area!)

• Kid’s Point: A dream come true for pretend play! This mini town features a pet clinic, café, diner, car mechanic shop, and news studio. There is also an old mansion with antique mysteries and more. It allows kids to step into different roles and explore the world around them.

One of my absolute favorite moments from our visit happened during puppet time with my daughter. As we played together, other babies started to wander over, curiously watching and then joining in. Before I knew it, we had a little group of tiny puppeteers, giggling and engaging with each other. It was a sweet reminder. Pure joy comes from being present in the moment and embracing the magic of play.

Then, there was a moment that had me absolutely cracking up. At Kid’s Point, my 8-year-old son discovered a section. In this area, he could pick up old VHS tapes. He could then put them into a player. He grabbed one, turned it over in his hands, and with total confusion asked, “What are these?? How do you use them?? These must be SO old!” Excuse me?! SO old?? I used those in my childhood! Does that make 30 ancient now?! (Cue dramatic sigh.) It was a hilarious and humbling reminder that time flies—and that today’s “antiques” were once just part of everyday life.

Exciting Adventures on the Second Floor

Upstairs, the museum takes exploration to the next level with:

• STEAM Lab: A hands-on creative space where kids can engage in science experiments, crafts, and more.

• Mars Exhibit: A fascinating look at space travel. It is complete with astronaut gear and a space station. There is even an area showing where astronauts sleep in space!

• Superhero Training Course: An obstacle course designed for little superheroes-in-training.

• Rock Climbing Wall: A fun and active challenge for kids of all ages.

• Mini Arcade & Giant Piano: Play classic arcade games. Or create music by running and jumping on a huge piano!

• Boats & More: Various other interactive exhibits that spark curiosity and creativity.

Outdoor Play & Carousel Fun

The excitement doesn’t stop indoors! Outside, the museum features:

• A large playground for active play

• Oversized musical instruments for kids to experiment with sound

• A beautiful carousel for a classic, nostalgic ride

One of the sweetest moments happened while we were outside playing with the musical instruments. A little boy came up to my son, and together, they shared a song—taking turns and making music. Then, his mom joined in and played on the large xylophone with my son for a minute. It was such a simple but precious moment. Watching kids share, play, and connect with strangers was heartwarming. Even adults joined in. It served as a beautiful reminder that kindness is everywhere.

Planning Our Next Visit

We saw some of the fun events like storytime and special shows happening earlier in the day. We definitely want to come earlier next time to catch more of the action! We arrived at 2 PM and stayed until 5 PM. This still gave us plenty of time to explore, play, and enjoy everything the museum had to offer. No matter what time you go, there’s always something exciting to experience!

Is It Worth the Trip? Absolutely!

This museum is 100% worth the visit—whether you’re making a special trip or just happen to be in the area. It’s engaging, educational, and full of activities that cater to kids of all ages. My son absolutely loved it and even said it made his top favorite places list!
